NEW! Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA)

On March 18, 2020, the President of the United States signed into law The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (H.R. 6201). The new law amends the current Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), allowing leave for eligible employees who can't work or telework because their child's school or childcare service is closed due to COVID-19 reasons. Furthermore, the new law allows employees to receive emergency paid sick leave for various reasons related to COVID-19. The pay for these leaves varies depending on the situation.

The new law is effective April 1, 2020, and expires on December 31, 2020.
